Work and sickness has overtaken the house again. I swear, childcare is like a illness factory.

I have been playing some Vampire Crawlers between work things, and it is REALLY fun. I see you are also diving in @john are you liking it a lot too?

Dark Souls where I can, but not much happening as it is either work or home stuff right now.

hellerphant Get well soon! When my nephew was staying with my Mom and I for some time he would always get sick at school and then bring that home and get all of us sick, it's not easy being sick that often hopefully you three get over this one quickly.

I am a pretty big card game hater but had like a free hour or so the other night and downloaded some demos to check out and was very surprised by how much I liked the game, I think I'm a sucker for a silly little gimmick like "play your cards in ascending mana cost to get buffs" so it really has been scratching my brain in the right way.

john It really is so good right! When you start doing the upgrades like adding Armor Strike to cards that normally don't deal damage, that's when it really starts to open up for me. I like that it's quick and you can just jump in and out too. I want to play more Slay the Spire II but if I don't have the time, this is where it's at.

Also, god damn those cheevos just come FLYING out of this game, huh?

hellerphant I do love the wacky builds I've been able to come up with so far, and the game has a mac build so I can just play in bed with keyboard controls.

God, yeah, I'm already at like 70 achievements just from a few runs. I think playing the demo gave me something like 30? It feels good tbh.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We actually got out to Kobe and stayed the night in Osaka. Took Eddy to the Anpanman museum and he lost his shit, was a real “I’m a dad” moment. I brought my Retroid thinking I’d play some RE2 when he went to bed but honestly I was too tired and just slept at like 9pm lol

Anyone get their hands on a Steam controller? I tried to get one at like 2AM here but the site was down. Managed to snag one at 5AM when I woke back up. Thankfully you can't buy them through Steam direct and have to use Komodo here, I assume that is the only reason stock was still available. They are all sold out now though.

hellerphant I've met this old dude in wizard robes who gave me a tiny spinny hourglass. I did enjoy Vampire Crawlers, but the gimmick kinda lost its luster faster than I thought it would. I'd assume they will bring in more content with updates or DLC, though the last relic you get allows you to literally print cash (and break the game in pretty hilarious ways). It feels strangely... final?

I'm thinking about getting the Steam Controller. I'm still using a cable-connected 360 controller, but I think it's time to put the old dude to rest. The champ lasted longer than any other controllers I've had and is still going strong. The upside is that I cleaned my old broken controllers and gave them to my toddlers as sensory toys lmao

I gave Eddy some of my old 8-Bitdo controllers for the same reasons! He's definitely learning his way around the controller. He worked out that hitting Y makes the Goose honk in Untitled Goose Game and was going wild.

Hope everyone is doing ok. We went away for Golden Week and are now all sick, and back at home but on the mend. I dunno about you @pyxel but ever since Eddy started at daycare it is just constant sickness in the house.

I am making good progress on Dark Souls. Just beat Sen's Fortress and now moving on to the next area. It's hard but I am really enjoying it. I want to play other stuff but I can't. I know I will lose the muscle memory so I am kinda in this purgatory of Vampire Crawlers as a "I have 10 mins" game, and then Dark Souls. I did managed to play a level of Diplomacy is not an Option because I am going to editing a review from @Johnniewalker soon, so I wanted to know how it was. Pretty fun. But I can't get distracted right now.

Blu I’m like 24 hours in so I feel like I’ve done a decent chunk but yeah looks like a lot to go. I’m an endurance & strength dude with an axe basically. I just got inside a painting… it’s a spooky painting… and very cool.

Finished the painting world but Anor Londo has broken me. I spent 2 hours and made 0 progress and it’s so far to go back and try to upgrade. I actually think I might be done. I’m vibrating from anger right now.

hellerphant You are a true souls gamer now, that frustration is so so real.

I went to Bring Me the Horizon at Madison Square Garden last weekend, it was an amazing show. They mainly played songs from Post Human: Nex Gen but they weaved in a good amount of Sempiternal, and That's The Spirit which was so sick. I got to hear Drown live which I still can't believe. It's been worth the sickness that followed after, I've been sick since the day after, and even now I'm still pretty congested. I'm finally getting old enough where I'm not just healed after a day and it's been kicking my ass.
